Cheese and Wine Festival

Ahh, cheese and wine. They’re two of the finest things in life, right up there with summer holidays and a nice cup of tea. A large chunk of the British population share a love for this winning combination, stocking their fridges, parlours and cellars with a range of wine and cheese, from the Supermarket’s budget brand to vintage treasures.

For the connoisseurs amongst you, you might be excited to hear that today is the beginning of the Cheese and Wine Festival in London. The Southbank Centre is putting on a feast of activities, from a cheese making demonstration to a wine tasting, with appearances from stars of TV and radio. Until Sunday, you can go along any time between 11am and 8pm to make the most of cheese and wine from around the world; sample produce from Italy, Swizerland, New Zealand, France and the UK, to name just a few. A London taxi will be able to take you to the venue from anywhere in the city, no problem! It’s located right behind the Royal Festival Hall, SE1. The easiest way to arrange your transport is to book a taxi online.

One thing to bear in mind is that you may well be a little bit tipsy by the end of the day (if you’re over 18); with so many beautiful wines on offer, you’re unlikely to be able to resist temptation! You shouldn’t drive if you’re planning to drink; either take public transport or arrange to be collected by a taxi in London. What’s more, admission is totally free! It’s a great way to spend your weekend, perhaps planned around lunch or dinner to give you a taste of luxury. We bet your mouth is watering already....
