La Soirée
The Roundhouse in Camden is renowned for hosting jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring performances. It’s a creative space aimed at a young audience, giving a platform for music, dance, film, theatre and circus performances. Camden is a great location for a venue like this; not only is the area a haven for enthusiastic, artistic and experimental types, but it’s also easily accessible on public transport and in Camden minicabs. Chalk Farm and Camden Town stations are just a short walk away.
This month, La Soirée returns to The Roundhouse for its Christmas run. The show was also here back in 2009, then moved to the Big Top at Southbank in 2010. It’s a unique combination of circus, burlesque, cabaret and general theatrics - all performed with the same flair and panache you’d expect to see in Las Vegas. This is more than just a few slap-stick clowns running around a lady covered in feathers and glitter; it’s a visual feast, with every act keeping the standard up high enough for you to write home about. The show is crafted beautifully, and it never fails to leave the crowd elated.
The only drawback is that it’s not cheap to be a spectator of La Soirée; the cheapest tickets are for standing room only, at £15 a throw. If you want one of the ‘posh seats’, you’re looking at £60 - £65. There are several options in between: ringside, stalls, and circle seats with varying prices. We can get you there for an affordable rate in one of our Camden taxis, finishing off your evening in style. It could be a great birthday or Christmas treat, giving you something to remember for the rest of your days. Just try not to picture that contortionist when you’re eating your breakfast.
