Where to Party This Halloween
And so we’ve almost made it through the week; not long until the Halloween celebrations kick off. Do you have your costumes ready yet? Even if you’re not planning to dress up, it’s a good idea to have a bowl of sweets ready by the front door - those Trick or Treaters don’t take no for an answer!
The majority or parties will be happening on Saturday night at various bars and clubs across London; you can count on at least half of your local pubs having some kind of scary theme and fake cobwebs hung in every corner. If you want the full works, try the ‘Buried Alive Halloween Ball’. What better venue than the tombs at London Bridge? Usually reserved for scaring children on school trips at the London Bridge Experience, this underground dungeon is already kitted out with the spookiest surroundings imaginable. Take a London Bridge taxi there to get involved in a fright-filled gore fest.
If you’re after a cultured evening of horrors, the BAC in Clapham Junction is hosting ‘Festival of the Dead’ on Friday and Saturday night. You can expect comic theatre, art and dance created to shock and surprise; it’s a great alternative to clubbing this weekend.
Monday 31st October is actually Halloween, so only the hardcore will make it out to week-night parties. Bosses across the country had better be on high alert for employee sick days and late arrivals on Tuesday! However, those who can handle it may be heading along to the Halloween fancy dress party at The Grand in Clapham. Tickets are £10 with are prizes for the best costume; it looks like being scary will pay off! The event’s organised by Generation London, and with drink prices from £2.50 it’s bound to be a boozy affair. Count me in!
