You can find cuisine from almost anywhere in the world when you come to London; with such a diverse community, all kinds of foods are served here - some more popular than others. Now, an initiative has been launched by the Malaysian Government with the aim of educating British consumers about delicious Malaysian cuisine. They are hoping to raise awareness of their native food and the inspirational culture that surrounds it; diners will be encouraged to try new and exciting tastes.
Throughout the year, ‘Malaysia Kitchen 2010’ will be holding events and activities to let you experience the cuisine of Malaysia and titillate your taste buds! You’ll get the chance to try authentic traditional dishes, comprising of blends of exotic spices and delicacies, things that you may never have had the chance to try before. It gives you an insight into the diverse culture of Malaysia and an appreciation for their heritage.
On Friday 24 September, Trafalgar Square will be transformed into a colourful, vibrant Malaysian wonderland! Food stalls, traditional arts and crafts, contemporary performances and drink stalls will fill the square, giving Londoners a chance to discover the beauty of Malaysia first hand. You can really get a feel for what the culture is like, and taste the herbs and spices in dishes served by over 20 Malaysian restaurant stalls. There are even cakes for those of you with a sweet tooth!
This is your chance to get a taste of the East without leaving the city. Book a taxi to make your way down there - there will be plenty of London cabs running on a Friday. The event is from 3pm until 10pm, so there’s time to fit everything in. With a cheap taxi service, free entertainment and a sumptuous selection of fine foods, you’ll feel like a King!
