Let Us Introduce Ourselves...
You're probably wondering 'who on earth are Tick Tock Taxi, and what do they do'? We are brand new, so we can't blame you for asking. The idea was born when a young web developer became frustrated with trying to book cabs in London ; there was always a long wait, an unreasonably high fare or an incompetent driver. He wished there was a quick and easy way of booking a taxi that would arrive on time and charge you an agreed rate - he was sick and tired of being ripped off.
If you're paying above the odds, you would expect private cabs to at least have a good knowledge of London, but unfortunately this isn't always the case. As an example, take the most famous landmarks in the city such as the London Eye, the O2 Arena and Buckingham Palace. If your taxi driver didn't know a specific address, he'd surely know his way to one of these. Here is a true story from one of the employees at Tick Tock Taxi:
"I was staying with a friend in South Kensington, and took a private taxi back from Central London. The driver didn't seem to speak very good English, and he didn't understand the address I gave him. I explained that it was right near the Imperial College, but he just looked at me blankly. With one final try, I said it's near the Albert Hall.
'Aba Ha?' he replied, looking confused.
'The Albert Hall' I repeated, enunciating more clearly.
'Aba Ha?' he tried again.
After about 5 tries I realized that this was hopeless, and got out where I was to hail a black cab."
This is exactly the kind of situation we want you to avoid when you use Tick Tock Taxi. We personally check each cab company to make sure they meet our high standards before going into partnership with them; we demand clean cars, competent drivers, good rates and great service. If it's not good enough, we won't put our name on it!
It's exciting times now as we're tying together all the loose ends, ready to launch our service a month from now. You'll then be able to use us from your laptop, your iphone or your desk top - booking a reliable taxi with the click of your mouse (or finger). We can't wait!
