Saturday Night at Cargo, Shoreditch
A lot of you will have already heard of Cargo, and some of you will definitely have been there. Judging by the queue down the road at the weekends, its popularity shows no signs of waning! It has a reputation for good food, good drinks, good music and a great beer garden. Split into different sections, you can choose whichever area suits you best; there’s a funky dining area with a reasonably priced, varied selection. You can choose from traditional bar snacks, pizza, gourmet burgers, sharing platters and salads. The perfect way to line your stomach before a night out.
The beer garden is a large space that’s covered in decking, with benches, tables and plants. It’s beautiful in the summer, but on rainy days like these, you’ll probably just find the smokers huddled under the heaters with umbrellas, and hardcore dancers cooling off outside. This Saturday should definitely attract people who like to party; taking over from the weekly resident DJ is Ant Coleridge and Tom Trevatt, otherwise known as 'a/tt(a)c'. They’ll be playing an impressive seven hour set of party tunes, remixes and mash ups for you to get your groove on. Expect some classic hip hop and credible pop tunes weaved in with their trademark electronica, minimal and techno. a/tt(a)c have been causing a stir in the London club scene and around the world, so don’t miss your chance to see them in action.
If you want to get in for free, book a Shoreditch taxi in EC2A to take you to there for around 9pm. From 9.30 you’ll be stuck in a queue, and entry costs £10 after 10pm. Like any decent club there are house rules, so take a look at the Cargo website if you’re unsure about anything. Generally, dress nicely, be good and have fun!
