Victoria Station Useful Information
London Victoria is the second busiest station in the UK. Not only is it a major railways terminus, but also a coach station and interchange for the London Underground. Being located so centrally in the City of Westminster, it is an extremely popular destination for those travelling in and out of London. In fact, it is the busiest tube station in the network, seeing around 76 million people on its platforms every year.
The station (and its surrounding area) is named after Queen Victoria; the reigning British monarch between 1837 and 1876. To this day, she is still the longest reigning female monarch throughout history, and there are many things around London that mark her memory. As well as the stations and the area of London, there is also the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Victoria memorial outside Buckingham Palace, and townhouses remaining from the Victorian era.
If you live in the city and you’re travelling out of town, you may require a taxi to Victoria station. It is the most convenient way to travel; space is restricted on public transport, so it’s difficult to cart your luggage about. This can also require interchanges and unless you know the route, there is the risk of getting lost. When you book a Victoria station taxi, you don’t need to worry about any of that.
Victoria may be the first place you see when you arrive into London, and perhaps you’ve never been here before. You might find it quite daunting, especially if you arrive during rush hour; you’ll find hundreds of people rushing about in a hurry, making things feel quite chaotic. If you book a Victoria Station cab in advance, you can avoid the stress of battling your way down to the tube and be chauffeured straight to your destination.
Victoria station minicabs know the city well, and will be able to take you via the quickest route to wherever you’re going. The drivers have all been trained to learn maps of the city, and if there are any planned roadworks, they’ll be the ones who know about it! There are plenty of reasons why they are one of the most popular methods of transport. Victoria station is very close to some of London’s biggest attractions; nearby you have Buckingham Palace and Green Park, Victoria Palace Theatre and Westminster Cathedral. This makes it an idea terminal to arrive into if you’re planning a day of sight seeing.
