Shepherds Bush Useful Information
West London’s Shepherd’s Bush is mainly a residential area, but there are some things that draw people to the area from the rest of the city. It is home to the largest urban shopping centre in the whole of Europe, Westfields. You can forget Oxford Street and Regent Street, or the upmarket retail of Knightsbridge and eclectic markets of Camden. Westfields has it all; not only will you find popular high street names such as Topshop and New Look for clothing, Office and Barratts for shoes, homeware in John Lewis and BHS, but it’s also a great social meeting place. There are all the coffee shops you could want for (Costa, Starbucks, Nero), cafes, bars, and also a whole section of restaurants which are open late into the evening. You can come here to pick up wine and flowers, or to grab some lunch.
In ‘the village’ at Westfield, you’ll find all the luxury designer brands you can think of: Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Tiffany & Co... it’s paradise if you have the money to spend! What attracts so many people to the shopping centre is finding everything under one roof. Travel there in style and book a taxi in W6.
Of course, Shepherd’s Bush isn’t just about shopping. You might like to visit the Green, which is a triangular shaped patch of grass surrounded by shops and cafes. Nearby there’s a cinema and a gym, and all the amenities you’d expect to find in a London area. If you like live music, you can go to see a concert at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, which has played host to some of the biggest names in the music industry. When a large event is on, public transport can get very crowded, so it’s advisable to book a Shepherd’s Bush taxi to get there and back. You’ll be the envy of everyone who has crammed onto a bus!
It’s easy to get to the rest of London from this area, especially with Shepherd’s Bush taxis. Situated next to Hammersmith, it’s just a short journey away from central areas such as the West End, Kings Cross and Paddington. If you’re visiting, there are plenty of accommodation options available; anything from budget B&Bs to luxury hotels. A quick search online will bring up a range of places for you to choose from. A Shepherd’s Bush minicab can be booked to take you there from the station or the airport, or from anywhere in London. There’s plenty to see here, so make sure you leave enough time to explore in W16 cabs!
