Euston Square Useful Information
Euston Square tube station is located in Zone 1 on the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines of the London Underground network, making it easily accessible from most parts of the city (although it may be best to check for planned engineering works on these lines at weekends!) It is situated very near to the larger Euston station, and there are currently plans to connect the two stations by way of a pedestrian subway, which would perhaps lead to a new double-station along the lines (so to speak!) of the linked Bank and Monument stations.
If you’re looking for things to do in the vicinity of Euston Square station, you won’t have to travel far; for example, one exit from the station meets the road very near the entrance to the Wellcome Collection, an art gallery specialising in exhibitions and installations relating to the crossover of art and the history of medical, anatomical and biological sciences. And if you’re not adverse to a short NW1 taxi ride, there are lots of attractions located within range of a taxi from Euston Square.
For example, you could visit the British Library, which, with almost fifteen million volumes stored on the premises, houses the second largest collection of books in the world (after the Library of Congress in the United States of America). Alternatively, you could use Tick Tock Taxi’s instant online cab booking service to book a Euston Square taxi to take you down the road to the Centre for the Magical Arts, the headquarters of the prestigious magicians’ guild The Magic Circle, and home to a museum of the history of magic.
If museums are your thing, a taxi in NW1 could also take you quickly and easily to several other nearby attractions, including the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, which as the name might suggest, houses a large collection of egyptological artefacts, including the world’s oldest known surviving item of clothing, a dress dating from circa 2800BC. You might also be interested in Pollock’s Toy Museum, which houses a large collection of historical toys, or indeed the British Museum itself!
To round off your day, you could finish up by taking a cab to the vibrant centre of Camden Town, well known for its colourful nightlife, live music venues and bars, cunningly avoiding the often-crowded Camden Town London Underground station by using Tick Tock Taxi’s instant online booking service to book a cab ride from Euston Square!
