Brent Useful Information
The London Borough of Brent is situated to the north-west of the city, forming part of Outer London. It is home to the world famous Wembley Stadium, home to football in England. Thousands flock there to see their favourite teams play, whether it’s a premier league team or England themselves! Nearby, Wembley arena is another major attraction; it’s one of the largest music venues in the UK, playing host to the biggest names in music. These are the most popular destinations of taxis in Brent, with people visiting from all over the country.
Another much-visited place in Brent is the Swedish home store, IKEA. It can’t really be described as a landmark, but it certainly attracts a lot of people from Greater London and beyond! It is one of four in the capital, serving as the West London outlet. IKEA became popular over the last decade due to the wide selection of modern designs for furniture and furnishings, at remarkably low prices. It is close to Neasden underground station, and can be reached even more easily by taking a Brent minicab.
Across the borough, there are plenty of options for transportation, including many London Underground and Overground rail services. Buses run regularly into the city and to surrounding areas, and Brent cabs are constantly on the go taking locals and visitors from A to B. These transport links make it very easy to commute into the inner city, which is great news for those who work in the capital. It’s also good for shopping sprees, should the consumer want more choice. It’s only a short journey into the West End, with upmarket boutiques around Knightsbridge and high street shops along Oxford Street. Brent Cross Shopping Centre is actually a bit deceptive; it takes its name from the River Brent which runs nearby, but is located in the neighbouring borough of Barnet.
There is a good selection of restaurants and bistros around Brent, catering to all tastes. For those who enjoy a tipple, there are also plenty of bars, pubs and clubs -- just remember to book a Brent taxi to take you home safely if you’re having a big night out! For a more relaxing day to escape the buzz of the city, visit Gladstone Park.
Brent is a very diverse and multi-cultural borough; you’ll find Christian, Sikh and Muslim communities amongst others, as well as the beautiful Neasden Temple, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir London (a Hindu place of worship). It’s a suburb worth visiting if you’ve never been there before, and a very rewarding place to live.
